12 Days of Money Challenge for Massage Therapists - Day Five

Uncategorized Dec 16, 2024

Welcome back to the 12 Days of Money Challenge with me, Gael Wood. I’m your host, and I love helping massage therapists make more money and create businesses they love. I’m so glad you’re sticking with it and are back for day five of the challenge.

Today, we will change gears a little and do a crafty project. I want you to make a sign for your massage office or treatment room. Think about where your clients go at the end of their session—wherever they settle up and pay. Maybe it’s a front desk, a desk in your room, or even somewhere in the treatment room where they can see it.

Create a printed sign—something simple and attractive. You can use Canva or your computer; it doesn’t have to be fancy. Start simple. Done is better than perfect every time, I promise.

You could make a sign about gift certificates. For example, I liked having a sign in my office that said, “Gift certificates make a unique and much-appreciated gift.” I’d also display a little sample of the pretty gift bags I used for my gift cards. It could also be a sign listing your enhancement or add-on services with their prices. Or perhaps a sign with any specials you’re running. Another idea could be a sign that says, “The best compliment you can give is to refer your friends and family,” with a little reminder about referrals.

Depending on how your office is set up, you could even make a few signs and place them in different locations. It’s something to consider.

Once again, I want to emphasize that we often think our clients know what we offer or what’s going on in our business, but they really don’t. They’re not paying that much attention. Our business is a huge part of our life, but it’s just maybe an hour a week or month for our clients. They’re in their world, with their stuff going on. It’s our responsibility to make sure they know what’s happening in our business so we can help them the most, stay in business, and continue to be there for our clients.

I like to say, “The little things are the things.” Doing all these little tasks consistently is what builds a successful business. Making a sign and putting it up might seem small, but having that sign up there—refreshing it now and then—month after month and year after year will make a lot of impressions. It’s going to make an impact on your business.

Today, I also want to mention one of the best features of the Massage and Spa Success Club, which is my low-cost business and marketing membership and coaching club for massage and spa therapists: the support and encouragement you get.

We have a group on Heartbeat app, where we encourage each other, ask questions, and get feedback on what we’re working on. We even have a monthly accountability group. If you want to share what you’re working on and track what you get done each day, it’s a great way to hold yourself to a higher standard and follow through on your intentions.

Honestly, I think this is one of the best parts of the entire program. So, if you haven’t already, check out the Massage and Spa Success Club. I do hope you’ll join us. I’ll see you for our next challenge video tomorrow.
