It’s day eight of the 12 Days of Money Challenge, and today’s task is another easy one.
The focus is offering upgrades through your confirmation process. Whatever method you’re currently using to confirm your next day’s appointments, I want you to add a recommendation for an upgrade or simply let clients know that you have massage enhancements and upgrades available.
You can approach this in a couple of different ways. The first is a customized approach, similar to day one, where you consider each client and what specific upgrade you might want to offer them. The second option is to include a link to your enhancements menu and make all upgrades available to everyone. How you choose to do this depends on a few factors.
For example, if you want to offer clients extra time, that might require a more customized approach, as you’d only be able to offer it when you have extra time. Here’s what that might look like:
“Mrs. Jones, I’ve got you scheduled tomorrow at 1:00 PM for an hour massage. I’m looking forward to seeing you! If your lower back is still bothering you and you’d like to spend extra time there, I can add 15 minutes to your session for an additional $20. Just let me know if you’d like me to block the extra time for you. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! Have a great day.”
For an automated system, you could add a call to action in your confirmation message. If your system allows you to customize these messages, you could change them every few months. For example:
You might include: “Don’t forget gift certificates during the holiday season! Click here to purchase: [Insert link].”
In the winter, you could promote seasonal services like a back scrub with a special scent.
Today’s task is simple:
If you confirm appointments manually, try offering an upgrade as part of your confirmation process.
If you use an automated system, add a way for clients to upgrade through the confirmation message. Even adding a line of text inviting them to contact you for an upgrade works.
If you’re setting this up through your system, that’s great! Once it’s in place, it will work for you on autopilot. This challenge is all about trying things out and seeing how they work for you. It’s an opportunity to experiment and figure out what fits best with your business model. If you try something that doesn’t work for you, that’s fine too. At least now you know.
I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Often, success is just on the other side of that comfort zone. We have to become more comfortable with doing things that initially make us uncomfortable. Jump in with both feet and give it a shot!
